Festivals and other events are great for tourism and the local economy. In 2013, as a result of taxes generated by tourism in Lewis County, each household paid $126.74 less in local and state taxes. Some of our most popular events include:
Hohenwald Springfest - first weekend in May
Find crafts, treasures, vintage goods, food, drawings throughout both days and more at this annual event sponsored by Friends of the Library to benefit the Lewis County Public Library's Summer Reading Program. The 5th annual Hohenwald Springfest 2016 schedule is Friday, April 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There's plenty of free parking, and vendors will be inside and outside at the Community Building in Memorial Park, 115 Smith Ave., in Hohenwald. Friday Night Block Parties--second Friday May through September
Through the partnership of Hohenwald/Lewis County Chamber of Commerce and City of Hohenwald, the second Friday night of each month May through September, find free music entertainment in the City Parking Lot, corner of E. Linden and N. Maple Sts., in downtown Hohenwald. Performances are scheduled 7:30-9:30pm. Come out, bring your own chairs and have a great time at the free events. Winterfest - first weekend in December
The Hohenwald/Lewis County Chamber's Winterfest, held the first weekend in December in conjunction with the South Central Area Fair Board's Christmas Parade (Thursday night prior), finds shops in and across the city decorated beautifully for the season.
