Natchez Trace Parkway

The 444-mile Parkway follows one of the four oldest trails in North America from Nashville to Natchez, Mississippi, and is the seventh most visited National Park in the United States. Hohenwald is one of the towns closest to the Parkway.

Parkway Hosted Meriwether Lewis Commemoration

Prehistoric Sites

Lewis County contains numerous prehistoric sites, some of which may be among the oldest in the Southeast. Archaeological digs have uncovered settlements with stone hearths and storage pits. No sites are open to the public at this time.
